A game that stand the test of time
Sid Meier's Civilization V is a landmark for the strategy genre and after playing it you'll look at other games from a different perspective. After seven years it's impossible to say that it still excels in all fundamentals, but one thing for certain is that the strategic thinking requested for the game can stand the test of time.

My favorite game series
This game delivers just about everything I want from a strategy game - and the expansion packs deliver the missing bits.
Hours upon hours spent mulling over tech trees and building queues. Mmmm nerdy funtimes

Way too addicting...then you find mods!
I love myself a good strategy game, then I found this game since I had never played any other of the Civ games in the series I ended up playing this and fell in love with it! It has hundreds of house to play time on just the normal game and certain scenarios and if you get really into the game you can find mods and get into a entirely different type of game all together. This is a must buy for PC gamers with everything there is to do on this game.
Warning about playing online though, the games are VERY LONG. Going from hours to even days or a week it all depends on how well the other players are so don't expect to many really fast online games or games in general.
